Guns don't go off unless you pull the trigger. Only idiots hurt themselves around guns. I've been around guns since I was a kid, you are every bit as safe with a gun to your head as you are without one there as long as the guy holding the gun knows what the hell he's doin with it. Besides, I took this pic myself when I was bored as hell with the camera on a timer and yeah the camera lived through it just fine. Nobody can show me one damn story about a gun "accident" that didn't involve the person themselves being stupid, the gun is never the one that fucks up. They don't just "go off" like the government would like you to believe.

safe, unless of course the guy who knows what he's doin is planning on pulling the trigger. but then bobx is right in the fact that pulling the trigger is what carries the sentence not just pointing the gun.
