I didn't listen to her music either, but yes, she was a good singer, like her or not I think most people can admit that. I also agree with other people, even though the official cause of death is unknown at this time, drugs did take a toll on her body. It's sad to see another great talent lost by drugs and alcohol. For example I was watching Dr. Phil the other day and there was a kid that had a 187 IQ! Someone got him addicted to cocaine. He is now nearly a vegetable. Doctors describe him as being between the states of being conscious and being in a coma. That kind of genius is now gone thanks to cocaine (drugs). And I'm sure we'll learn that her kind of talent is gone due to drugs.

Bobby Brown should be shunned and rot in hell.

I listened her before she went with Bobby Brown, then it was all downhill for her..

Somehow I knew that it would end like this..

What a great voice she had..

That pic of Mrs. Ozero nearly scared th' shit outta me... Something that horrific without warning is just not very nice...

It's always sympathetic to say that the deceased 'battled' drug abuse an' addiction for many years (UNsuccessfully, it would appear)...but I wonder sometimes if that was more of a relationship with drugs, an' not so much a battle? It certainly destroyed her, but she is not the first, nor will she be the last.
I liked her when she did "I Wanna Dance With Somebody." She was an as-yet-unspoiled young, cute, skinny li'l dynamo with a great voice! Then she became a pop diva - 'Haven't liked much from her since.
By her death I am unsurprised an' not particularly sympathetic...she slowly an' knowingly ruined herself for years with drugs, booze, an' even smokes...'did she not have even a clue, nor anyone around her that cautioned her against such a ultimately destructive lifestyle? You know that people who cared about her had to have repeatedly tried to help her redirect her life while there was still a chance?
Sometimes super-successful bigtime entertainers behave a bit like teenagers - as though they are surely indestructible, even when those around them give powerful warnings or die right in front of them.

R.I.P. Whitney Houston - Maybe your passing will contribute to the salvage of some other entertainers' lives...let's hope so.

"The biggest devil is me. I'm either my best friend or my worst enemy.' - when asked about her drug problems in 2002.

Kinda says it all really. She had a great voice and released some top-selling songs, but I guess with success comes money, and with it sometimes people fall into bad habits.

Obviously this is all speculation as at the moment we don't necessarily know that her death was anything to do with drugs. I think that takes a few weeks to find that out from a post-mortem.

In show business as in life, timing is everything.

So as a gf pointed out to me, this is an ULTIMATE DIVA MOMENT !

Like two days before the biggest award ceremony in her industry she kills herself. Wow! What timing ! Way to go Whitney !!!!!!

I don't know if we will hear anything from Dianna Worwick (sp? very sorry bout this)one of her mentors and Whitney was one of the few vocalists that could give me the frigging chills. Its all too tragic, yet all too familiar because deep down beneath all the lights and fame and BS talented people like Whitney are just regular people like all us, thrust into an arena of filth, corruption, cash, ego and all the human frailties...fame can kill.

THE disgusting part is now the Red Carpet Walk of So-Called Friends mouthing her accolades while they watched her go down in flames. Where was this outpouring and concern at the time, what did they do to help out? Its Michale Jackson all over and turns my stomach.

May God bless Whitney and hope she found the peace that eluded her in life.
