NFL for pussies?

hockey lacrosse (box) football and rugby are the 4 toughest sports in the world. none of them are more or less tough than the other.

Actually. Soccer is the pussy sport. Especially when compared to hockey. Soccer is certainly the pussy of the sports world.

as far as hits go, ya soccer is a pussy sport, but thats not the object of the game. and to whoever posted the video of rugby hits, those guys wouldnt even compare to a warren sapp (see pic below) who would bury your head in the turf and assfuck you while you are crying to mama.

but all in all they are different sports, so dont try to compare them to each other, but in my opinion, rugby players have to be dumb and crazy as fuck to do that without pads

NFL, Ice Hockey and Rugby are all tough sports, but Aussie Rules is the one that beats them all. No padding and all the big hits at speed and crunching tackles that the other three sports have.

id say baseball is a pussy sport, ya plays at the plte get rowdy, but when i see guys on the 2 day dl with a blistered index finger i cant help but shake my head.

Just kidding, both sports are just as eqaully hard hitting. Also I don't see Rugby players getting paid 20 million a season, maybe they have to wear pads because the owners want at least some insurance the player will play the next game..

All great sports. Ice hockey and soccer are good sports but the scoring side of things is boring. At least in Aussie Rules and NFL there is always something happening. I'm biased, as an Aussie, but I reckon NFL's weakness is that 60 minutes of playing time takes about 3hrs. Aussie Rules is the fastest, hardest and most skilful game around! Of course, I'm an Aussie!

Growing up we played the only football I knew as a kid, American football, as played in the NFL. I always wondered why they wore helmets and pads because we usually played at the neighborhood park every sat and sometimes sundays too without equipment. The most equipment you'd see was cleats and mouthguard so people didn't get their teeth knocked out. We usually played 11 on 11, unless there wasn't enough players available.

More times than not, we might have a pick-up game in the street near my house if the parks field was already full. We broke and/or fractured fingers, arms legs and ribs, tore ligaments and tendons, had dislocated shoulders, arms, elbows, and even a few gashes opened in by someone not wearing a mouthpiece! Not to mention the number of black eyes, busted lips and knots the size of clinchers on your forehead. Even seen a few guys getting hit so hard they went into convulsions and actually needed an ambulace to get them of the field. To this day I still see teens running around out there doing the same thing I did and if I didn't have the worries about insurance costs, missing time at work, etc, I'd be out there right with them.

I don't doubt for one second that rugby is a very tough sport but I know why they wear equipment in football. I've been hit by a 350 lb dude running a sub 4.5 40, and it wasn't pleasant. At the same time I can only imagine playing Aussie rules to be very similar to what I did as a kid. Neither sport is for pussies but seeing footage of the pro game on each side I believe that the NFL is a faster, harder hitting game. But then again, if you haven't figured it out, I'm biased.

I play rugby in South Africa, it is a hard game, but so is American Football. Both have their differences. Some rugby players wear shoulder pads etc, although not as big as the padding in American Football, but it is protective gear nontheless. I do not think American Football is for pussies. Its just a game that the Americans like to play. Hell, if I couldn't play rugby, I would play American Football. Another reason that players in the NFL wear a lot more protective gear as apposed to Rugby, is for the fact that in American Football, you are allowed to do quite a bit more to injure other players than in rubgy.

i agree that both sports are very tough!
but the reason i feel football is worse is purely because of the speed involved.
just watch some highlight reels and watch some wide receiver to saftey collisions, a wide receiver coming over the middle of the feild to catch the ball only to be obliteratted by a strong safety weighing 220-240lbs running 4.3-4.2 40's
all you see is bodies going stiff in mid air, mouth pieces go flying and people sleeping on the turf!
if you want a few good examples, look for vid clips of "John Lynch, Ronnie Lott, Steve Atwater" just these 3 guys alone will make you decide to never try to play wide reciever in the NFL!

Obviously never played baseball. Hasent seen what a ball is like comming off of a bat at a hot corner, or a come backer up the middle. Here is the thing, no way any athlete in these sports can do the other as effectively. Football players with rape the rugby guys, and the rugby guys will take the hits with the best of em. No sport is better then the other, obviosly there are some non athletic people in here who havent experienced real competition in a sport, or multiple sports. The arguement should be is who is the best multiple sport athlete, those guys can do more then the great athlete of a sport. And this isnt towards the second post, it is to the original creatot

I would love to see someone call him a pussy and get away with it. Stronger then Sapp, the ability to cover as much ground as Micheal Johnson, and the ability to hit harder then Ray Lewis. Todays comparison of a Brian Urlacher. Although he doesnt hit as hard.

back in little league, i got pissed at the ump, and threw a ball way above the strike zone. my catcher got his glove in the way and the ball hit him on the wrist and broke it. crazy times
