New WBW - No news feed??

One of the things I loved about WBW was the News stories and reading everyone's comments, you guys are so funny and I really liked getting news/stories from around the world and everyone's local craziness.... am I just missing this feed on the homepage? or is it hidden now?

I blame Bangles.

The only thing for me to do is resign in disgrace and shame...

Despite my objections (since I was a news contributor and generally take in a lot of news information), the news section was eliminated in the site update a few months back.

Here I thought it was Diz' fault.

Yeppers, there's some advantages to the new, and I understand why there had to be a re-write, but I liked the old much better.

I liked the news section, it was my baby. When the rewrite happened I thought I was gonna be obsolete but I've got a new place.

Some of the news stuff was excellent, some not so, I tried to keep it entertaining yet informative, however had to post some dross too when there wasn't much to report.

All good things must come to an end I spose....

I thought it was great fun sending Paddy the weird and wonderful things that catch my eye. Oh well. All in all it is not that big of a deal.

I know it's not quite the same, but couldn't someone just start a 'news' thread?

Well yeah...but the last post was only a few weeks ago.

Yeah, two things.

One, it's kind of time consuming to archive news articles and post them like that.

Second, nobody really commented on them much anyway, so I kind of just figured there is no reason for me to keep a thread-blog of random news articles I come across that are interesting to, like, me only.

I read your posts in this thread. It's just I often didn't commented on it but I was still interested by it

I think the news was another element in an "all-around" experience here at WBW. I was a news mod at one point, and I loved doing it. Would love to do it again. So Yea ... I miss it. It made for a more full, well-rounded website. On the other hand, I see the point that not a LOT of people bothered with it, replied or seemed to care.
