why post if you don't want to weigh in on the playoffs. There are plenty of other stupid threads you could spam. This thread is for NBA fans. The playoffs have been great. The overtime game was awesome. The only problem is the late starts. The east coast guys need to go to bed.

I saw an article the other day it was titled something like "what do we do now (because we're not watching the NBA anymore)". There's more to the NBA than 2 or 3 mega-media teams. I love San Antonio and the Spurs for this very reason.

Go Spurs Go!!!

I love the NBa finals. The Spurs/Detriot match-up is fantastic. I know what I'm doing on game nights. I just wished the games started earlier.

HOW...Bill Belichik would never get fired for a player, and Tom Brady would never act like Kobe...the Lakers are in trouble for years to come

I do agree with the Spurs being the Patriots of the NBA, but you also have to look at Detroit in that way too. Detroit has players that each play a special role in that teams success. I love watching these two teams and it goes to show that offense wins games, but defense wins championships.

Don't get to cocky. The Pistons have to win again in San Antonio to take home the trophy. I still like the Spurs to win it all.

Chauncey better make some room in the trophy case for his 2nd finals MVP. And I don't think calling the Spurs the Patriots of the NBA is a good assesment.

Make a case against it

-Duncan is the best player in the NBA, Brady is the best QB in the NFL...neither considered flashy superstars
-The Spurs receive virtually zero national recognition on the eve of their 3rd title in 7 years (a dynasty), ditto the Patriots only 3 in 4 years
-Depth is a key to their success
-Both teams predicated on defense

I really like Brady, but the best QB in the NFL? I think not.

The Spurs get no national attention because they play boring basketball, and the Patriots are media darlings.

They only have 2 guys off the bench that play extensive minutes. The Pistons go deeper into their bench.

The Pistons play better team defense than the Spurs, and the defensive player of the year is a Piston.

Don't forget that Detroit is the defending champ, and if they win this one they have 2 titles in 2 years, vs the Spurs 2 titles in 7 years.

I think Detroit is more comparable to the Patriots than the Spurs are.

I also want to point out that i'm not a Pistons fan before I get labeled

I know they still have to win Game 7, I was just really really excited to see them win game 6, so I thought I would boast on here. I'm keeping the faith that the Pistons will win...should be a great game. The series has been pretty entertaining, and Im a hockey fan. I have to say, I don't really care for Basketball, but from watching the pistons last playoff win and this years playoff run so far, the game is starting to grow on me. And I'll say it: I'm on the bandwagon, for now anyway. Playoff basketball is the only basketball I'll watch...

Regular season basketball is completely off my list. I watched probably *2* games all season and that was due to the fact that there was no NHL action. I love NHL playoff action, and getting excited over basketball playoffs has made me miss hockey even more. Anyway, none of you care, lol, but I thought I'd give my two cents as to where my stance is on the NBA playoffs...

GO PISTONS

the pistons won game 6 because they knew they would get eliminated if they didn't win, they played great i'll give 'em credit, the spurs will win game 7 though

-Whose better than Brady in the NFL, the objective of a QB is to win, and no one has done that better...people confuse the fact that not making mistakes is as good as making a play...Peyton has his 49 TDs regular season, but made mistakes in the playoffs...you don't go 9-0 in the playoffs by accident
-Patriots get hated on every opportunity people get
-Spurs have 10 guys who are averaging 7 or more minutes, Pistons have 8 guys
-Don't forget the Pistons won't be winning their 2nd title in 2 year, it will be the 3rd in 7 for the Spurs
