NBA Playoffs

Avery is trying to teach them "d" but they arent even remotly close to the "d" my Spurs will throw at em,yes they did look good though,but let's face they are a solid offensive team have been all yr BUT defense wins championships

My heart is still rooting for the SUNS. I'm excited to see Nash get the MVP. (It wasn't racism!!!) Amare Stoudemire should be the most improved player. He's been on dunking fire all year. Go SUNS

IT all started with Dan Le Batard's commentary (Miami Herald) earlier in the week. Le Batard wondered if Steve Nash won the Most Valuable Player award because of the color of his skin rather than the quality of his game.

Here’s what Le Batard wrote: "No one who looks or plays like Steve Nash has ever been basketball’s MVP. Ever. In the history of the award, a tiny, one-dimensional point guard who plays no defense and averages fewer than 16 points a game never has won it.

"But Nash just stole Shaquille O’Neal’s trophy, even though O’Neal had much better numbers than Nash in just about every individual statistical measurement except assists, so it begs the question:

"Is this as black and white as the box scores that usually decide these things?"

I can't believe that some people would suggest (or even ask the question) that nash's MVP is racial motivated! Other people have picked up the torch since then... See below:

Shaq has started this season as the favorite to win the MVP. But he always manages to lose it. He takes games off for random injuries. He has played limited games. The games he has played have been with limited minutes. You could make an arguement that Wade is the MVP for the heat, not Shaq.

Nash won the MVP because he has had an amazing season. Point Guards can't be measured purely on statistics, but on how they improve their team. See Stoudemire's, Marion's, & Joe Johnson career numbers! If you really want to argue statistics, Phoenix won 33 more games with Nash compared to last year! Nash also lead the league in assists. His team finsihed with the best possible record! Look at the SUNS record without nash this year. Terrible.

Suggesting that a guy who was born in south africa and is a canadian citizen was voted the MVP for racial reasons is ludicrous!

What don't people get...MVP is based upon who is most valuable to the team...Nash comes to Phoenix and they improve 30+ games, Miami improved marginally...it's not about thats, that's Player of the Year...big difference

As a Spur fan, I've never liked Shaq. When he played for the Lakers we would get such BS fouls as he took his little "two hop", mow someone down, and dunk the ball routine. Nash is MVP. To see Miami fans get all stressed out and pissed off about it, well it kinda makes me feel good. They're suffering from "Shaq-itis".

Did anybody see the Miami game yesterday? How come there were so many empty seats? Early game?

The thing is...Nash has been playing like that for the past 4 years now.

I hate to say this- but I do believe Phoenix takes the series from the Mavs and goes on to play Miami and wins it all.

That's just what my gut says...but my gut also told me to eat some greasy food today- which didn't go too well if you know what i mean.

Game 2 tonight in Phoenix.

shaq didn't deserve the mvp anyway, as craut said nash improved phoenix by 33 games, miami only improved by 17, and I would argue that shaq wasn't even the best player on his team,

It's great to see Dallas win, it was one hell of a game!

I love the playoffs! (the only problem is that I'm tired as shit from staying up late and watching the games)
