Soyo Dragon series.....no questions the best mobo for the price......the absolute best with the whole "money is no object" mindset, go with Tyan.
and ....VERY good (the best) choice for video also! Bravo!
asus. EpoX. abit. gigabyte
im a fan of the ASUS A7N8X Deluxe. you can find them for a little over a $100 US, and they have some nice features, SATA, Dual on-board LAN, and some more fun stuff i cant think of. its got the n-force 2 chipset in it also.
another a7n8x deluxe supporter here, nice nforce2 chipset, really decent inbuilt sound, 2 lan, firewire, 6 usb 2.0, sata, dual-channel ram.
Asus or u can try Soltec too. Soltec make very good motherboards.
well u r wrong. my exp with Soltec is the best.
Abit is my choice also, I have built about 20 computers over the last 5 years and have had very good luck with their boards. As far as processor chip, I love the AMD over the Intel, they seem to have the best thought out design. I have not had time to check out the latest info on their 64 bit chip and the real world reviews. If they are good I may be building another computer
they are (allmost) perfect
ASUS? I heard that asus motherboards suck?.....
btw- Im looking to buy/build a new computer. I plan to put a p4 2.8 ghz processor in it and a radeon 9200 128 mb video card too. Which motherboard is actually the best out there? along with a good price..nothing around 200 cdn. ...
any suggestions? did i hear the wrong stuff with asus?
I've built/rebuilt atleast 100 machines, Never had a problem with ASUS or Gigabyte, Both are very good companies, I work at a major retail store in the US as a computer technician which means I see alot of computers come in for work and I see that most of them are AMD based systems, Not saying AMD is bad just saying that you have to find the right board for them to be stable. You can find an awesome ASUS board such as some of the ones posted before this post, Also look at Gigabyte, they use the same manufacturing design as ASUS. 6 channel audio, 10/100 and 100/1000 nic's built on, Nforce chipset. etc.. Really great boards.
