Christ, I just finished one of the worst and longest work weeks of my life. 73 hours plus a ton of bullshit pouring down on me. I suppose this is what happens when the boss wants to go after a lucrative contract that could take the company to the next level. Still, though, I can't remember the last time I worked a regular 40-hour work week, it's been that long. My fiancee tells me it's been like this since January. I guess she'd know, she's not been getting much from me from all those long hours.

What's the most you ever worked? (Criteria: More than one job doesn't count)

Last summer, I worked 60 hours a week. It's kinda different when you work for family. You gotta do what ya gotta do I guess. :\

One time opened a new store twice as big as current shop. In getting things up and running I had clocked 93 hours in the week leading up to opening day. Came in at 9am the day before we opened and worked until noon the next day. Went home for a shower and nap (three hours) and came back and worked until 2am! Had a few more 30 hours OVERTIME (plus the regular 40 . . .) weeks before things settled down.

** And I don't know why more than one job wouldn't count - you still put in the hours. Except that you start the thread, you make the rules . . .

Anyone from the forces will tell you, once a tour is over, 168h = 24x7 - that can be ongoing for weeks at a time, 'proper' sleep is a luxury.

to add to that anything in civey-street is going to be slightly better, overtime rates and less chance to being shot!

apart from that the most i have done is a 96 hour week when i was running a pub.

still Doctor Who, has it bang on.

My longest time in a week was about 34234290 hours. I had to timetravel to do that

I work in the oilfield, on location 24/7, from start to finish. Some wells are done in 10 days, some are done in 110 days. Minimum worked is 84 hours, plus both crewmembers have to be around for rigging up the equipment and changing out tools and sensors. We're lucky if we get 6 hours of sleep every night for a week. Of course, it's an easy job, and the money's great, but we get paid for not being home... not really the difficulty of the work. Also, we're paid by the day so no overtime is recorded.

Worst ever was in the Navy, 3 days straight, then 12 hours a day the rest of the week. Only stopped at 3 days because I was falling asleep standing up.

One day, a rich old man took his young employee to the top of a hill overlooking his factory and the entire town below, all of which the old man owned. He put his arm around the young man's shoulders and both quietly surveyed the bustling scene. After a while, the old man said to the youngster, "If you continue to work hard, put in extra hours, and treat this company as if it were your own....Then one day, my son,........ It will STILL be all mine".......you stupid schmuck!

My record day, when I owned a business, was 9 am until 3:30 am the next day.

It was a seasonal biz so in the summer I would typically work from 9 am until 1 am. I pretty much worked 7 days a week too!!! I can't think of one day I didn't want to go to work either (except when sick)
