One of my best friends is black and I'm talkin African black, so dark you can't see him at night time lol. His wife is white. Their daughter came out completely white just with frizzy brown hair and tanned looking skin, the little girl looks Italian cause of the hair and skin. You'd never guess she has a drop of black in her. The shit happens. Amen... Not to justify his actions (I condemn them as strongly as anyone), but his actions were probably the result of mental illness. The way he grew up had to be tough. But someone, somewhere, should have identified it and got him so help. Especially before he started sleeping with children. (even if you don't believe he molested the children, it is part of public record that he slept in the same bed as them during sleepovers. That's just not a healthy thing for a grown man to be doing.) And that episode where he held one of his children over the balcony? That's just reckless endangerment of a minor... More indication that something was just not right in his head. I have heard some people say he had a Peter Pan Complex... Not sure if that is a technical term, though. I would have just labeled him schizophrenic.

That's what I believe too. And, I think he settled the first case out of court because he was naive enough to think that people would see what was true, and the whole thing would go away.

If there was such a preponderance of evidence why were no criminal charges ever filed?
He settled the civil suit at the point where the plaintiffs were seeking control over Jackson's finances, claiming that his fortune provided him an unfair advantage in the lawsuit. I can see why someone who was already spending millions of dollars on the defense for a crime he claimed didn't happen might not want to expose his entire net worth to a family seeking to take it from him.
Not that I expect much from the typical WBWer, but it's still disheartening.
