I can't ever be sure, but I'm inclined to think you're right. He did do things that made him an easy target, but, in the end, even the prosecutor who wanted to so badly couldn't make a charge stick. Most people would "wise up" after the first lawsuit, but he was possibly just too naive, and believed that people would see the truth. What I know is that, after the first out of court settlement, a few more accusers came out of the woodwrok, but even the aforementioned prosecutor found them laughable. And, the first person the family that ended up in the criminal trial contacted was the attorney who got the first settlement...

It's a bit sad when anyone dies, but everyone does - eventually. Jackson was great in his era...which, truthfully, was long gone. His weirdness overshadowed his unique and stunning accomplishments in music and entertainment...Will we ever know if his late life weirdness was a result of his loss of a childhood, his overbearing father, and his unprecedented fame, or would be have been that abnormal if he were not the self-proclaimed "King of Pop"?
"Thriller" was his apogee, and sleeping with little boys was his perigee...He was the greatest, and then became a freakshow...he was very much in love with himself, and that left little room for loving others, or for sanity, for that matter. Why do people write things like 'RIP Michael, we'll miss you' in their Facebook status bar? One of my closest friends has done just that and I've just had to call him to end our friendship.

Personal opinion here - so feel free to trash me =) -

I'm pretty sure that he LIKED children and some parent was able to convince their child to say "he touched me" with a convincing tone to try for a few million dollars. YES, MJ was a bit off, but I sincerely doubt there was any sort of child molestation going on.

As for his music, regardless of how "over hyped" it is, as someone put it. Thriller is the #1 selling record of all time to this day, 20 years after his supposed complete burn out. obviously people are STILL enjoying his music from that disc.

Also, props to him for going around ghetto neighborhoods in the early 80's when breakdancing was JUST starting up in small cliques, and learning it from the street, and then broadcasting its early forms for the world.

Anyways, I guess despite the weird looks and strangeness, i had/have nothing but respect for his accomplishments, and nothing but appreciation for his music.

Dude had a lot of issues and did a lot for music. But I can't say this makes me sad in any way. He really has been pretty irrelevant to music for 15 years or so now.

Entertainer/singer who made lots of money? Yes.

Role model? No.

at least all the children are safe and now his WHITE children can live a normal life from the freak show...they can't be his...unless he paid to have his genes changed...

I was just writing in the Farrah thread yesterday that it's weird how these HUGE ICON celebrity's are all dying and now this.

All you people who think Michael was a child molester are fuckin idiots. Out of the HUNDREDS of kids who spent the night with him only a couple ever accused him of anything and it just so happens that the only ones who did either had a history themselves of being liars or their parents had a history of being sue crazy. None of the celebrity kids he hung out with ever accused him of anything. He was never convicted and they never had any evidence that wasn't completely circumstantial and bullshit. You people are just media monkeys, if they print it, you idiots believe it.

Was he a complete nut job due to his incredibly fucked up father and insane childhood? Yes. Was he a grown man with a childs brain? Yes. Was he a child molester? Fuck no. The guy just loved kids cause he never got to be one and he was crazy as it gets. There's a big difference between crazy and child molester though.

One of my best friends is black and I'm talkin African black, so dark you can't see him at night time lol. His wife is white. Their daughter came out completely white just with frizzy brown hair and tanned looking skin, the little girl looks Italian cause of the hair and skin. You'd never guess she has a drop of black in her. The shit happens. My friend got a DNA test through the courts cause he didn't believe the kid was his cause of the skin color either but guess what... the baby girl is his.
