Which I had attempted to describe on page one, however, a dog still has a knee (level with the underside of it's belly) that bends in the same direction as ours. It's hock (our ankle) is located at the mid-leg area. When a dog sits on it's arse, it still has all the same relative joint motions that we have when we squat down on our heels.

This is much more complex question, and motion than is being perceived.

Without a forward bending knee, maintaining the center of gravity needed to sit on one's butt from a standing position, without falling, may be nearly impossible without the flexibility of a gymnast/contortionist.
