Let's talk about breast implants

Umm yeah...getting breast augmentation and sexuality aren't the same thing.

Are you sure that you really see it that way ? To me, if the end result does not meet my expectations it calls everything in to question. Everything ! If the product doesn't work visually for me, how can it work emotionally ?

One is clearly the equal of the other, no ?

Sorry to beat this to death, but while I realize that chance is part of everything in life, I would never approach any cosmetic surgery with the same mentality as a new lipstick.

I'd say much like getting a tattoo, you really want to research the person performing the surgery. Tattoo artists and surgeons have portfolios showcasing their work and just like tattoo artists, the best surgeons aren't cheap.

I know I must sound like a jerk asking that a woman take the fullest possible responsibility for the outcome, but that is me. Settling for second best in a boob job is just like settling for second best in a relationship....and we've all seen plenty of both of those. Very sad to see either one.

Obviously I want to be pleased with the end result, but until you have it done, you don't know what the end result is going to be...thus it can't be your deciding factor. You can see examples of the surgeons work, but you can't see them on your own body until its too late. Your second sentence sums it up perfectly for me. Obviously I wouldn't be happy if the end result was not what I was hoping for, but its done...regardless of whether they look good or not. All I'm saying is you can hope and expect for the best, but you can't bank on it...so therefore, having your expectation that high, you're likely to be disappointed. If you're likely to be disappointed, then you shouldn't get them in the first place.

Omuh, if you did psychology studies you might know better than me. But I read very serious articles about the fact that most women going through breast surgery did feel happier after as a constant state. As human being mostly get bored fast getting used to mostly everything like buying a car or a new house after a short raise of happiness phase. Breast surgery would be one of the only fact that does improve life happiness of women.. Do you agree with this?

Just to clear it I agree with you that a psychological problem wouldn't be fixed by doing that. I am not talking about people with psychological issues but I'm talking about common women going through breast surgery. I think it is about 200,000 american women/year.

Yet, I don't get breast enlargement. The first picture shows women with beautiful natural breasts. But I do admit the enhanced photo's look okay. I think the 3rd is best. She was small to begin with, yes, but what guy in his right mind not enjoy what she had before? My wife has small breasts, but I've never wished they were bigger, and neither has she.

The pictures I posted were more to show how natural today breast implants could look and to have the original shape was nice for comparison. It was not intended to focus on already beautiful small breasts just getting bigger, even if it's there that people in general do not agree. To show sagging boobs after years of breast feeding before getting implants, less people will be against it (I think).

I just hope you are only considering material things in that comparison as I would be really surprised if breast implants were the only happiness inducing thing out of everything inclusing love, family, job etc. ^^

Again, it depends on the reason behind the surgery. I still think a big part of those are due to psychological complexes but there are also re-construction, money/business, etc... or just shallowness. I have no stats about those different reasons though.

Maybe not to an extreme but yes I do believe if your self-esteem and happiness is raising up it might have a positive influence on dealing with love, close ones, job.

My feeling is that in popular culture we hear a lot that breast implants aren't going to change you positively and people going through surgery are shallow and running away from their problems. But in fact the research studies results seems quite different than common sense. It's why I was curious if you studied this and could confirm. I think now maybe your answer, might be, influenced by when you said : "I'm not even a boob person"

whether a girl should get them or not? its not up to me, its up to her and I wouldnt expect to be consulted unless it was my wife or another serious relationship.
do i find them appealing? depends on the job, some look awful....regardless of the size, I dont find ridiculous sized ones appealing either. Others look great and make the girl obviously happy and more confident.

I wouldnt chose a relationship or a girl based on her breasts been all natural or not. To alot of people they may see breast implants as some part of other personal thinking, or some sort of psychological issue or whatever......im just a simple man and have no concerns with the reasoning etc, im more about the visual. if it looks good....then great!..shes happy and healthy? great! thats where it ends for me.

I'm far from considering that it won't help and that it's always shallow. Yes, for sure, implants will help you. But in some cases, it won't be enough to deal with some issues even though some people will think it is.
It would be interesting to see a long term study about implants for women with body acceptance issue and appearance of new symptoms on a big scale.

I always try to separate my personal opinions and tastes from the discussion itself. I would have the same thoughts about butt implants
I already gave my taste about implants though : I don't like how they look when it's noticeable. And as I never touched fake boobs, I don't have an opinion about how they feels ^^ Do they even feel different ?

I like all boobs enhanced or not. If a women wants to do something to her body it is her choice and I don't think anyone has the right to tell her anything different

I only felt fake boobs once from a girl I dated long ago. They were like D or DD, looked great I've to say but the feel was too hard and not natural at all. She had saline implants and silicone suppose to be much more natural feel and softer.

I like how some of them look but I've also very limited experience having fake breasts in hands...

Well.....

Even the best implants still feel too firm compared to natural boobs. Usually the cheaper they are, the faker they look and feel. Implants are normally very firm and don't have much give. Really good ones still feel kinda fake but not in a weird "what is this a softball?" way.
