This would have given the Parade Commander a headache to organise.

I find it amazing that this photo, taken so many years ago, actually still
exists! And now, someone has put it online for all of us to see. This
INCREDIBLE picture was taken in 1918.

It is 18,000 men preparing for war in a training camp at Camp Dodge , in
Iowa . EIGHTEEN THOUSAND MEN!!!!!

What a priceless gift from our grandfathers!

Snopes says it's real, but I don't believe it.

I counted and there aren't 18,000 men there.

Would be nice to see, but it looks too fake, the size of the men as it goes back is too inconsistant.

Looks like the Renaissance bypassed WBW entirely - it's called foreshortening, people. Look at the picture again - it's taken from a fairly low crane, tower or building. To get the Statue to appear in proportion at such a low angle, the front (the base) must be massively smaller than the back (the Torch). Thus there must be 1000's of men in the Torch and Crown, and only dozens in the base and skirt. I say it's real.

It is hard to say, but it looks as if the men in the back are disproportionate to the buildings beside them. I'm leaning toward fake.

I agree.

Too many skeptics/people who don't understand parallax optical phenomenon on WBW.
