I REMEMBER??

I remember the cheese of my childhood
and the bread we cut with a knife
When the children helped with the housework
and the man went to work, not the wife.

The cheese never needed an ice chest
and the bread was crusty when hot
The children were seldom unhappy
and the wife was content with her lot.

I remember the milk from the billy
with the yummy rich cream on top
Our dinner came hot from the oven
and not from the fridge at the shop.

The kids were a lot more contented
they didn't need money for kicks
Just a game with their mates in the paddock
and sometimes the Saturday flicks.

I remember the shop on the corner
where a penny of lollies was sold
Do you think I'm a bit too nostalgic
or is it...I'm just getting old?

abit of both really....

but i was thinking of stuff like that the other day..
when i was a kid, id get home from school...and play outside till dinner, then out again till dark. Now everyone is too scared to be out or theyre inside watching TV or playing PS/xbox.

so many things that you cant do anymore..
like take pics of YOUR kids at the swimming pool, or weekend team sports...cause if you do, you need permission of ALL THE OTHER parents, cause theyre all scared of pedos..

nice poem..

Sorry that you're so old and stuff.

Man. So what was life like before sliced bread? Was basically everything that came out considered the best invention ever? Before that sliced bread timemark?

You. of all ppl would understand me Latino. Like I lived at Campsie, b4 I become married, and that was
heaven as a young kid, but now, I don't noe whom my neighbours are? I catch the train to work, not noeing any1, and finally getting to work, and perhaps still not noeing any1, yet I am the Manager there. As some1 once said...To noe is nothing at all, to imagine is everything? Thank you ever so much for ur valid and positive comments.

Be brave enough to live life creatively. The creative is the place where no one else has been. You have to leave your city of comfort and go into the wilderness of ur intuition. You can't get there by bus, only by hard work and risk and by not quite noeing what ur doing. What u'll discover will be wonderful. What u'll discover will be urself!

If the mind be fixed on the requirement of any object, that object will be obtained!
