Blade Runner (The Director's Cut)
The Life of Brian
Aliens
Cross of Iron
A Clockwork Orange
Koyaanisqatsi
Star Wars (Episode IV)
The English Patient
The Blues Brothers
Terminator 2

There are 20 or 30 other movies that could have made this list too.

Honourable mention to "The Rendez-vous": it's only 12 minutes long, but *everyone* I show it to is completely blown away by it.

what is this "The Rendez-vous" movie about? where do i go about seeing it?

Speaking of 12 minute movies... one of my friends from HS made a movie that I think is funny as shit. It's called Starving Artist. If you're bored its worth a watch: http://www.starvingartistthemovie.com/video.html

I can't believe way of the gun and the transporter were on anyones lists of top 10 movies. I also really really didn't understand apocalypse now. If someone wants to explain to me what I missed I'd appreciate it.

Let me explain to you first that you should of made a list not just bitch. Apocalypse Now was actually somewhat of an antiwar movie when it was made. Basically it attempts to show the absurdity/futility of the Vietnam war. Marlon Brando decided he wanted to be God just like those who (Americans) just decided to get involved in Nam with no regard of how American citezns and other countries felt. It was as if Brando's charactor was molded by the American military so perfectly he became as arrogant and rogue as his creators. Along the way Martin Sheen's charactor begins to see this and sympothize with Brando. The only problem is Coppola made such a badass war film that it had the opposite effect of an antiwar movie.

Hey hey hey premiere ....the first person to mention fucking "HIGHLANDER" ....yeah, does anybody else think the sequel didn't suck as much as we wanted it to do, actually I think one of the coolest performances by Sean( damit, I fucked a girl called Pussy Gallore)Connery .....although it didnt make "any" sense.
By the way Apocalypse Now has been a extraordinary way of visualizing the real amount of absurdity of a war like the Vietnam- war has been. Think about the scene we Martin Sheen meets with these fighting soldiers that basicaly are shooting at everything that moves, probably even at themselves .....
P.s. How could Martin Sheen have become President without a millitary record ...thats just not possible man.
Btw ...it's the ten Movies you love most, that doesnt have to do anything with quality ....at least for me (I nearly included in my list Ace Ventura)

Apocalypse Now is just an update of the old book Heart of Darkness. The Vietnam war was just a backdrop. You could do the same movie about any situation where one person is left in charge in an uncivilized area with no outside influence. Scenes from it are great ("I love the smell of napalm in the morning." but as a whole it is pretty much crap in my opinion.

Back on topic-Now that I look back, I see a few that should have been ahead of the ones on my list. Pays to wait sometimes.
