Thanks for all the responses so far. It does kind of look like all those dogs. I just don't know how to be sure if it's any of those or something else entirely. I'm heavily leaning toward the Bolognese though.
@Cooper.: I agree it's not a dog. I have 2 Rottweilers myself and that's a real dog to me but my mom is in her 60's and a Rottweiler would be a lil much for her to handle.
Swiss407: You should ask Jetu (one of the crew members behind the scene) he really loves dogs!
thanks Diz I will definitely do that.
edit: who knew there were so many breeds of small, white, like-haired dogs out there? lol. They all look so damn close to each other it's really hard to differentiate between them. I'm leaning toward Bolognese but I've looked at a lot of other pics of Bolognese dogs and they all seem to have big ears where as this puppy doesn't seem to have very large ears. Do ears get bigger on dogs as they grow?
My parents just got a puppy that is 1/2 Pekenese and 1/2 some small poodle/something mix. Looks just like the bolognese pictured above. I offered to loan them my Dobe when they wanted some companionship, now, when they see how mellow my Dobe is compared to this little hyper ball of fur that has done more damage to their house than the last 5 dogs combined, i think they wished they would have. I always prefer working or sporting breeds over the cute cuddly popular breeds.
I tried to look up the dog but couldn't come further then you guys already have. The dog you want has smaller paws than the ones others showed so far.
1) Take the picture to a vet. Ask a vet.
2) It's most probably a mutt of some sort. Be prepared for that - and if that's the case you're going to have to hunt around, because puppy farms are only interested in tormenting and inbreeding pure-breeds. Thus your best bet will be the local animal shelter.
But ask a vet. They'll know. They'll also be able to warn you about certain things - such as that Dalmations, while cute, go deaf rapidly and easily, have health issues in their bones, are not the most desired animal to have around children, and are quite possibly, the stupidest members of the K-9 family.
Things like this that the picture/Disney won't tell you.
So I would ask a vet.
If anyone needs me, I'll be in my lab.
