As an old school Metallica fan, this would not be my 1st choice for their best album. That being said you can't argue with success.
Enter Sandman every one knows it. It's another sporting event song
Unforgiven, Sad But True, Nothing Else Matters all great songs. If you're into metal at all, even if you're into rock, this is a must own

…And Justice for All= Away better from Black...

Well I put my favorite non-hip hop albums earlier so now I'm gonna do my top hip hop albums. My top 10 would actually consist of a few albums from the same artists but for the sake of this thread I'm only doing 1 album per artist. Also they're in no particular order.

Tupac Shakur - All Eyez On Me

Nas - Illmatic

Boogie Down Productions (on list because of KRS-One) - Ghetto Music: The Blueprint of Hip Hop

Dr. Dre - The Chronic

Notorious B.I.G. - Ready To Die

Wu-Tang Clan - Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)

I could go on and on and on but I'm gonna stop there for now. Rappers now days need to pick up these albums and go lock themselves in a room with them until they learn to stop making bullshit music.

Very true. I was big on hip hop back in the early-mid 90's but it's just sooo terrible now. Well, Jay-Z is still pretty good.

I grew up on it so I can't give up on it just because most of it has gone terrible. There's still a lot of great artists out there you just have to look really really hard to find them. Once the South took over hip hop it went straight to the toilet. It's all about beats and the lyrics are just filler now, you can literally say anything you want as long as the beat is good. Lil' Wayne has proven that beyond all reasonable doubt. There's maybe a handful of good rappers from the South and none of them get any radio time or attention.

Deftones - White Pony

This record influenced an entire generation of musicians and bridged the gap between "mall metal" and progressive, experimental rock.
