guys how often do you go commando and what comments does your girl/wife make? does she go commando too? also if you're not commando what do u prefer wearing

No, most soldiers are not smart enough to get dressed in the proper way.

I haven't been in the army at all. They didn't want me... Along with pretty much everybody else, even those that said they wanted in...

I was in there for full, not as an inlisted guy or something, but I had an accident and my knee got busted.
So, end of carrier.

I was going for an officers rank and I was just that much away from becoming 2nd LT.

There's an episode of Friends where this lingo is used. Ask Devilhair to upload the episode for you (he seems to have all the DVDs).

I've never heard it called going commando but military units that spend alot of time on combat patrols and training for combat patrols, say more then a couple of weeks at a time, might not wear underwear because your underwear/t-shirt/socks are usually going to be and stay wet from either water or sweat. Unless you have underwear made from some exotic material, regualr underwear will shrink when moisture and heat combine. This creates a host of problems.

1. When on the move, your crotch will chaff. infections and rashes can form plus discomfort.

2. Its easier to shake out debris and insects from inside your trousers when not having underwear on.

3. Especially for scout/snipers, going to the bathroom in your pants is easier to clean out in the feild if their are no underwear.

Going commando (or to go commando) is the phenomenon of not wearing underwear under one's outergarments in public. In American slang, this phenomenon is also referred to as Freeballing (in the case of males not wearing underwear) and Freebuffing (in the case of females). A 2004 study of 7,000 people by the New York-based clothier Freshpair revealed that 9 percent of men and 7 percent of women go commando on a day-to-day basis, with an even higher percentage doing so on a semi-regular basis.

Slate's Daniel Engber dates the modern usage to 1974 college campuses, where it was perhaps an outgrowth of the Vietnam War. The origins of the phrase are uncertain, with some speculating that it may refer to being "out in the open" or "ready for action." According to Engber many soldiers do go without underwear to "increase ventilation and reduce moisture." The earliest known use of the term in print is January 22, 1985 with Jim Spencer writing in the Chicago Tribune: "Furthermore, colored briefs are 'sleazy' and going without underwear ('going commando', as they say on campus) is simply gross."

I feel left out bc it says guys etc.....anyway, i go "commando" it the summer more often then the rest of the year, and my guy like any other guy likes that that i'm naked undedr my skirt..... no he doesn do it too if i do it......but how ever i do find myself naked soon after he has found me going commando
