Fantasy Football

Im starting Manning... over Denver. This troubles me, and ESPN has not helped my confidence. Those of you who hold Steeler players, should do well going against my lowly Raiders. Im starting Ward. Granted, the Raiders actually have a decent pass defense, but their run defense and short pass defense.. sucks. Best of luck all.

I might lose today. BigJ actually set his roster this week & so far Reggie Brown & Deuce are getting shut down.

ya, your probably going to bust 150. Just not a good weekend to do that. I was worried about Manning, but he turned it up in the second half. I was almost thinking I should have started Vick... but good thing I didnt, woulda cost me 4 points. . Still doesnt look like Smokin Roaches is gonna lose.

The Raiders do suck, on levels most people cannot fathom... but keep in mind they have the #1 ranked pass defense. They can be ran on, but their rush defense is ranked #10 as well. Its a good idea to start a defense against their aenemic offense though.

Long Balls would have beat anyone except myself and Team M. He had the one team I have been worried about playing the most. I just lucky though. Of course, I would rather be lucky than good any day!!!

I don't get fantasy football. To me it's for total losers who wanna pretend they're something they're not. Ya might as well go play a damn text based RPG or watch star trek. If ya like football and gambling then join a football pool or 10. Fuck playing gay ass fantasy football. Whoever invented it needs his ass kicked. I was at a bar the other day and a guy was rooting for his home team to win but wanted the other team to score still cause he had the QB from that team on his fantasy league, so it was like watching the game with a confused retard. It's totally taken the team spirit and love out of football. It's a team sport and should be treated as such, if ya wanna bet on individual people go watch fuckin tennis or golf and stop killing the way football has always been loved and watched, team against team.

I would dissagree with you on the point you made of taking away the team spirit or the spirit of the sport. I love NFL football. Fantasy football has allowed me to pay more attention to more than just MY TEAM. Granted, Im a die hard Raider fan, so I NEEDED SOMETHING! I still pull for the Raiders and have never pulled for my fantasy team over them... although in the past decade or so thats been mildly pointless.

I know a lot of people think its stupid (you said gay, but it has nothing to do with anyones sexual orientation, and to think that is insane). Its just another aspect of the game. Most people, myself included, play it for money. I didnt this year as I had just moved back home around the time the season started, and didnt have enough ppl interested to start a cash league. However, its one of the biggest money making events that takes place during the football season. So, whereas you may think its stupid, there are roughly 20 million sports fans that would disagree with you. But hey, this is America, you are allowed to carry your own opinion.

Oh ya, and as to your comparisson of FF to some lame ass D&D game... lmao. Its a bit different. Were not sitting around with a bag of dice and talking about mythalogical creatures and "magic"... were trying to develope a strategy based on real teams, real players and everything that goes on in a game... in hopes of beating someone else doing the same thing.

Just curious what us 'losers' are pretending to be? Last I checked, I am myself when I am setting up my team.

Fantasy football is nothing more than a football pool except you don't bet on wins and losses, you bet on individual stats. Yes our league is free but just like everyone else, I have participated in money leagues in the past.

Sorry all... I havent been able to really talk a lot of shit lately. I have won by narrow margins and all... but this weekend... I obliterated ANYTHING close to a weekly total.
