Hi guys & girls - i'm not sure whether this is the correctplace to be posting this question but here goes:

I have a number of .avi clips which are encoded in the divX format - i need to crop the whole movie to focus on one thing - what software would you recommend / suggest as i have no idea how to do this. I have about 100 clips to edit - so is there any batch software that will do this?

Any information would be very greatful!

Many thanks

VirtualDub can crop movies for ya and its free.

VirtualDub ---> http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/virtualdub/VirtualDub-1.6.12.zip?download

And there is a batch program for it also called VirtualDub Batch Assistant also free.

VirtualDub Batch Assistant ---> http://www.brightonart.org/VDubBatchAssistant.shtml

NOTE! THIS WILL ONLY WORK IF ALL VIDEOS ARE TO BE CROPPED THE EXACT SAME WAY

First Open Virtual Dub and select the settings you want to use and save them as process settings. (a .vcf)

For the cropping in virtual dub you will need to select Full Processing Mode under Video.
Then select Video --> Filters
Add the Null Transform Fliter and then select Cropping.
Select the Areas of the vids you want cropped.

Now go to Videos --> Compression and select the codec you want to use.

Go to File --> Save processing settings (thats your .vcf you will need to use with the Vdub assisatant)

Now open the Vdub assistant and load the .vcf you just made and select the videos you want to crop etc..

Hope that helps
