First of all, I gotta say that I'm glad to see you still alive and kicking. It was a terrible thing that happened to you but it was entirely preventable.
A few issues here that need to be addressed and I'm not going to mince words.
You were entirely at fault and to your credit, you took responsibility for your action. You were stupid to ride without proper gears. I'm sorry to sound harsh especially to someone who had suffered such a great wound. But you were stupid for not wearing the appropriate riding gear. I don't know what happened that caused you to fall off but I doubt that the helmet visor has anything to do with it. It doesn't have that sort of aerodynamic drag to pull a 100+lbs person off a bike.
The slightly lesser fault lies with the owner of the motorcycle. He was an asswipe to have taken on a passenger who didn't have proper gears on. If he were a responsible rider at all, he would have made sure that you had the gears on or not taking you at all. And then he had the utter stupidity of going that fast with a passenger on. I may be old but I'm no fuddy duddy. I ride the canyons at extreme speed on a regular basis. But you will never see me take a passenger and ride that way. I will take risks and subject myself to danger but I won't subject others to danger. It was obvious that your boy Sean didn't give a damn about your health and welfare at all. Otherwise he wouldn't have done what he did.
There's a video floating on the internet somewhere about a girl in a short skirt who fell off the back of the bike because the rider decided to pop a wheelie. I am told that she suffered massive road rash as well.
Listen up, riders. You only have the right to kill yourselves but you have no right to jeopardize your passengers.
Hopefully others can learn from your misfortune.
Once again, I'm sorry for what had happened to you. Unfortunately I've seen this kind of stuff once too often.
