I don't own a gun, never needed too and I live in the US. That said, I'll take two

I was expecting to see a fleshlight

On another note, Ive been in situations where I reckon that thing would have got me killed, if I owned a gun I'd prefer the standard glock.

I too was expecting a fleshlight. But that is awesome in a terrible idea kind of way!


...ok, I suppose I'll weigh in. I carry a Taurus Ultralight .38+p. I've carried a knife for a decade but never have been in a knife fight. I've carried my fists all my life but have never been in a fist fight. And I now carry my gun just about everywhere with me and - God willing, I'll never be in a firefight.

With regards to being statistically more likely to be shot if you have a gun. I believe that and can show one example why that can be true....

Please keep in mind I am Ev1lone here on WBW but in real life I have taken on the duties of Mother Theresa and am helping rid the world of pain through endless giving and compassion. In other words this is a make believe scenario...

Scenario #1. Let's say I am a bad guy and I take you hostage for the reason of having my way with your wife and or taking your property. If you have a gun and hesitate to use it and I have a gun (I am a bad guy of course so why wouldn't I?) I won't hesitate as "life is cheap" to me. You of course get shot, I get the wife and the property. Now I have to run fast as someone surely heard the gunfire and will be looking to see what happened which will be shortly followed by law enforcement.

Scenario #2. Same situation except you have no gun. This time a simple thump or two with my handy buttstock or pistol grip and you are lights out at the minimum temporarily or worst case...forever. I still get the girl and the property except this time nobody heard me whack you. I get off Scott-Free!

My area is poor and down trodden, and mostly populated by white trash and violence is common place.

Yes there is a small but growing amount of gun violence.....mostly drug dealers shooting each other.

The chances of getting stabbed in Britain however are soaring. With Britain youth idolizing American 'Gansta' culture, we have mobs of 'Youths' wearing hoodies brandishing big phallic knives, willing to stab anybody they take a disliking to.

Most of the stabbing have been in or around London, but they'll spread... but hey at least with guns being so hard the chances of British society degenerating to the level you see in some American suburbs.

Your need of guns is based around sophistry and indoctrinated paranoia. Your neighbour(note how to spell neighbour) has a gun, so you have to have a gun to protect yourself from them, and then your neighbour on the other side has to get a gun to protect himself from you, and so on and fucking so on.

But then you don't leave it there!!! You government instill paranoia into people by telling you that you need protect yourself against foreigners...China then Russia and now 'Terrorists'...YOU NEED A GUN TO PROTECT YOURSELF AGAINST TERRORISTS!!! How fucked up is that???? How many Billions to one are the chances of Average Joe coming across a terrorist!!!

I could go on about 'what exactly is cool about a gun'....(ohh...that would be the power trip it gives you and this one is a bit geeky by the fact it's like a gun Leatherman!!!....but I'm tired and i get the feeling that trying to convince you lot that guns are evil is kind of like trying to convert members of the Westboro Baptist to a life of Atheism or merely the fact that anybody with a life isn't going to hell.

Excactly my words - violence creates more violence.....If we keep on killing eachother like anmials how far has evolution gotten us....Absolutely nowhere.........If we convince ourselves that a gun more in our own hand is the answer to your neighbours having (another) gun - then civilization will surely come to an end,,,,,,,,,,,
