Currently I'm paying the all-powerful Telephone company, for my internet and phone. Satellite for my TV. I'm getting ready to move am pondering a switch to cable. Heres a chance for one and all to sound off. Anyone get or like getting their total audio-visual experience via all of one or the other. Satisfied or unsatisfied. Sound off if ye will?
Pardon the interruption you may now continue your search for Elf porn.

Ah-so...thanks Artie. DSL is on par cheaper, not sure if the cheaper is better, I'd just soon get my moneys worth. Do you have HD programming Artie?
I have the digital plus package and there are about 10 HD channels. I think there is another package above it with more HD programing but the one I have is about all I'm willing to pay for TV.
currently have comcast cable for all three, phone, internet and HD TV.Like the internet speed and the calling options (anywhere in the US )... so far so good.
I'd like to put all mmy money on one horse. Just trying to find the most economic way bout it. Thanks guys.

Got a 6 meg dsl from AT&T/Yahoo. Had it for about three years now, and have had very little trouble with it.
I have a 16MB cable internet speed for less then 50CAD$$!! Cable all the WAY!
MYTHS… FACTS… : CABLE VS DSL
1. Cable High Speed Internet vs DSL Internet
DSL Internet access offerings typically are not as fast as those offered by Cable ( depending on the DSL provider, service levels can range from 128 Kbps to 7 Mbps downstream from the Internet to the user while upstream service levels from the user to the Internet can range from 128 Kbps to 1 Mbps)
Service levels depend on the service agreements offered by each cable system operator per market (access for residential or commercial).
DSL speed is dependent on the distance between the house/company and the central office. In contrast, Cable technology provides all customers equal access to high speed services.
2. Dedicated network vs. Shared network
All connections to the Internet, from nearly any provider, are shared at some point. In fact, the Internet itself is a network of networks, shared by millions of users worldwide.
The only dedicated portion of DSL exists between the user’s home or business and the telephone company’s central office. Beyond that point, DSL subscribers are on the telephone company’s metropolitan network, shared with other DSL, data and telephone subscribers. The user’s connection is routed to an Internet Service Provider where it’s shared with all other ISP subscribers before being transmitted to the Internet. Therefore both DSL and HFC technologies provide a shared access to the Internet-but in very different ways.
3.Shared network
Because of hybrid networks (fibre-coax), cable companies can assign dedicated frequencies for delivering each video, voice and data service without conflict.
Telephone lines are limited to approximately 1 MHz (vs up to 750 MHz for Cable) of bandwidth, which must be shared between voice and data service.
Since Cable services all use distinctly different channels, you can watch TV, talk on the phone, and surf the Net simultaneously without impacting any individual service.
4.HFC Network
The HFC network can deliver high-speed, high capacity video, voice and data services to homes and businesses without relying on the local telephone network.
So why pick DSL or Cable??
Optimum Online. Got their Triple Play for about $100 max. Great deal for about a year. Have been with their cable service for 3 years now and no complaints. I like the fact that i can cut them off any time I want, where as the phone company (verizon) will stick you with year to year contracts. Which is another reason as to why i didn't go with their fios service. It was a 1 year services, plus my bill would've been higher that it was with cable.
HD Basic package is free.
I work for one of the biggest providers in Finland, and many people nowadays seem to have cable connections. Usually the it is for impatient people who want the connection to be opened fast. We just enter the MAC address to the system and the cable connection works in 2 hours. ADSL-connection needs to be connected from your house first and it usually takes few weeks. We have some people having lots of problems too, and the problem usually lies on their end. Old houses, old wires + digital television = weak signal. But when it works, it works like a charm.
But I really don't have an opinion which one is better, they both have good and bad sides. I have ADSL and it works fine.
Anyone have comments or experience with the satelite internet connections? I live out in the country with no access to anything other than dial up or satelite and am considering going to satelite for service...
