Usually people make mangas first then they put it on tv if the manga becomes popular so then it becomes anime

awesome ! i've only watched Ghost in the shell, how come nobody likes Saint Seiya ?

Its hard to decide since I really enjoyed many anime but I would say its a draw between Cowboy bebop, full metal alchemist and gundam seed.

i'm gonna try to download Cowboy Bebop

The anime's that Sacr3d mentioned are all pretty good.

Rah Xephon (26 episodes out, and available on DVD)
12 Kingdoms (or Juuni Kokki, 45 episodes out...not sure if all available on DVD)

Last Exile (26 episodes out, should be available on DVD)
Initial D (First stage is out on DVD, 2nd stage should be coming out soon, a movie called 3rd stage, and 4th stage is coming out now..Oh, and a movie called Bonus Stage which takes place as a side story that spans end of 2nd stage and into 3rd stage).
Full Metal Panic (actual storyline, first season, out on DVD)
Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu (random episodes, second season, pretty sure this one is based on the manga)

all the initial d's have been out on dvd for a long time...just gotta know where to find 'em!

i have found the vost on emule
but bittorrent (with azureus client) is good if you know where to dl the link (on irc)

you can also search for the hayao miyazaki aovies (mononoke, laputa castle in the sky, sen to chihiro, returns cat, kiki, the soreceress), you may find them in japanese, and dl the subtitles (in .srt) and read it with media player classic or bsplayer
