1st Person / 3rd Person Shooters

I was hoping people could reccomend some good 1st or 3rd person shooter games for the pc. games i have played and liked have been the gta series, max payne, the punisher, total overdose, postal 2, far cry, i personally like the 3rd person games best but dont mind 1st person either, so if anyone could reccomend some similair titles that would be great.

the new ghost recon is pretty cool. Plus, second sight is an older game, I dont know if its on PC, but that was a good 3rd person.

gears of war and halo. thats all you need.

I have most of the Medal of Honor games, and play the hell out them.

Deus Ex (one of the most underrated video games of all time) <---If you haven't played it you should seriously get a copy, despite its age it is an incredible game...

Unreal and Unreal Tournament (all of them)
Max Payne (replay it , its GOOD)
Half Life

While I agree Gears is the shit, he was asking for PC games. I heard S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl was decent. Haven't got around to trying it yet though.

I was looking for this a few months ago, but couldn't find it. I have read rave reviews about it, but sadly haven't got to play it yet.

Yea come on great titles here, the battlefield series. I know it's old but the sequel is about to come out "Operation flashpoint"- possibly the best realistic squad-based fps. And finally you haven't played half-life 2? Just do it, just do it, just do it, just do it, just do it, just do it, just do it...

F.E.A.R. was a good FPS on PC

All the rest I know are on the Xbox360.

^^ What he said - those are all great games, and I agree with him on Deus Ex - I *still* replay that game from time to time.

I'm really uncomfortable with third-person shooters - I've never found it intuitive to manoeuvre "over the shoulder" like that. FPS is the only way to go as far as I'm concerned.

That said, there's a really old third-person game that's still really good - that's "Shadowman"... Fantastic gameplay, scary as hell in places, and a great storyline. You should be able to find it in a specials bin somewhere.

Then of course there's the "Splinter Cell" games - they're basically third person, and although the interface is a little annoying, they're still quite playable.

Mercs is seriously the only shooter I ever really played. I did play Star Wars Battlefront, which was from the same company but I didn't fall in love with it. I fell in love with Mercs though.

Sabotuer looks like it's going to be a more mature version of Mercenaries - something the people here might find more to their liking than normal shooters.
