only ever read 1984 by him recently, for the time he was living in when he wrote it, he got it quite right. couldn't think of a title for the thread and 2+2=5 popped into my head, well it was either that or Room 101

I also read it recently. He was very forward thinking. However, the book is a terrible read. Not very well written at all. No idea why people say he was such a great writer, his ideas are good, his execution is terrible.
Anyway, welcome to the site and I hope you enjoy your stay here
