I doubt, I mean really doubt, any of you lot will be able to help... however I figured its worth a shot for 2 minutes of typing.

I got my stereo, for my car, it came all the way from Hollywood.

Opened it up, fanastic, everything was in one piece, all looks ace... however! Took it out to my car, and none of the leads I have in the car match the holes on the back of the stereo... and none of the wires are the same.

Before I bought the thing I asked a guy in a stereo shop if I should haveany problems installing it, he said "None at all, but it has different radio freq's" (72-107FM if you're interested)... but other than that he said it should be no problem.

Basically, what I'm looking for, is either some advice, or could someone with a better knowledge of the internet find me somehting useful from google... all I can come up with is those stupid sites which let you think you've found something, but its just links to online shops.

What you do is look online for a wiring diagram. Look for what the stock wires in a focus are, and what the wires on the back of the radio are. Solder them together and bam, it works. Id check crutchfield.com first, then maybe some other electronic stores.

yep, i agree with m4dn. I've actually wired a deck to a car without a wiring diagram. Took me and a friend 5 hours.

We knew the basic wires; power, ground, remote, etc. The bitch of it all was finding the positive/negative for the 6 speakers in the car. I'm not sure how it is for other makes but for some reason honda doesn't make the pos/neg for one speaker look the same. for example. the right front tweeters' pos. wire was a green one with grey dots but the neg for the same speaker was purple with a line through it. And we didn't have a voltmeter...i was just glad we didn't short anything.

So try to find a wiring diagram. Something that tells you what each wire is on your car. The deck should have come with its own wiring diagram telling you what each wire coming from the deck is. Better yet, if you can find the harness adapters that make it plug and play that would save you a headache. But it is possible to do it w/o the diagrams. Just not advisable if you've never done any audio installs.
