My personal cars are a pontiac, and a dodge(mini-van). They both run fine, and do there intended purpose. My work car(government{military}) is a 2006 Dodge Stratus. I am pretty sure that Germany owns Chrysler, who makes the Dodge. If I am wrong, forget the rest of this post, and I will never visit the car section again.
This car is not like your mid-price "American" made car (ie Ford Taurus..) This car is different. First of all it is comfortable, the seats hold you like a sportscar. Second it has balls, I can beat almost any make off the line( at the red light). Third it is flex fuel, which means I can run it on ethanol, which I do 99% of the time( bad mileage, but improves the kick and no foreign oil.) Fourth the stereo is awesome, and it is stock. Fifth, it handles like a car that costs twice as much.
So, were Chrysler's like this before Germany took over?? I think not. They made good progress with the mini-van, and who can forget the K-car?
This is a risky post for a non-car guy, I mean i own a mini-van! If my facts are wrong, and I have NOT verified any of them, then, nice to meet you. If they are correct, has anyone else noticed the change?

Ethanol is pretty much a sham. It gives you less miles per gallon and it costs more than normal gas, so its like a double slap in the face. Even if we dedicated all the farmland in the country to growing corn for ethanol it wouldn't put a dent in reducing our need on foreign oil. It basically amounts to a giant subsidy for American farmers at the driver's expense just so Bushy and auto-industry can make it look like they are doing something about our energy problems. We should be importing the Ethanol from Brazil where they make it much cheaper from sugar cane. At least the ethanol would be affordable then.

sorry off topic.

Yeah I know duche, but hear me out. It is not mine, property of the USA, but I get to drive it, and it has balls. Never had that car thats not the hottest on the road, but performs like it? This car is one of those. Put an old guy behind the wheel as intended, and he will still burn your ass when the light turns green. It is a good car, and I think it might be due to the German buyout..what do you think, on that topic?

If true, then fair. Right now though, ethanol makes me happy, as it does not DIRECTLY line the pockets of who we fight. It does seem to increase acceleration too. Quite frankly I would buy it if it cost twice as much as regular gas, as a statement if anything. it is a start twords renewable energy, and in a country the size of USA, you have to see the positive in that. How Bush figures into this I don't care, as politics are not allowed.

I just bought my first post-merger Chrysler product this past weekend (a 2004 Dodge Intrepid SXT) and I can't say that I see much difference between it and my wife's 1995 Intrepid. They are both great cars. The 2004 Intrepid is replacing a 1997 Cirrus which I owned for 6 years. The Cirrus is the same as the Stratus and I agree, it's a spunky little car. All I've ever owned is Mopars and wouldn't consider anything else.
