That is a very open question, what kind of car are you thinking you would like, sports car, family vehicle, Abrams tank, space shuttle. You may want to give some kind of general idea

Hybrid's are pieces of shit and way over priced. In a few years we'll all be driving hydrogen fueled cars anyway cause the technology has almost been perfected and anyone who bought a hybrid is gonna feel like a retard.

I swear it is like where ever you post, there is a gapping void of intelligence.

Anyways, Skeila you would be fine with a hybrid wether or not it is Gas/Electric, Ethanol/Gas. It is a little bit more costly now but it will pay off later. Anyways what you need to do is consider your realistic needs. Sit down and ponder on how often you drive, where you drive, how many people are with you, and any special circumstances that would possibly arise. Then from there start doing research.

But as an early tip; avoid domestic SUVs. Not only are their fuel efficient pathetic, they are annoying, and they seem to have a severe build problem every damn 6 months requiring some sort of fixing. Just recently American media just realized that the shitty chasis frames of most domestic SUVs are total junk and easy collapse under weight where other imports passed easily. And like three months before that they realized a shit load of domestic SUVs had bad gauges, gauge wire, and sensors.

what's with that hybrid shit to save the earth? just get a second hand diesel from before 1990 and run on vegetable oil. my first two cars had only a 1.6diesel engine and they ran about 3.8l/100km. and zero toxic exhaust. but don't just put any oil in it: some wíll stink...
anyhow: think 'bout the savings, a second hand mercedes costs 'bout 1500€ and often, if it's an old-timer you save on taxes... think 'bout it!
