I drive by a mechanics place where Mercedes, Jaguars, Rolls Royces, Porsches, etc... tend to sit outside because there is not enough indoor space. Not far from that is a dealership that recently had two very nice Porsches (I pronounce Pore- shah, as the ads are all said that way)in it's fleet. These sat outside (most of them) when some real heavy storms came in, I rushed to get my cars covered, however I have no garage myself. I live in MN where salt and snow are a way of life, however, these mega $$$ cars are already doomed from having any heavy rain on them. When you wash your car for the first time you subject it to water, so I'd like to get your thoughts on this. Only a few weeks ago a major highway was flooded here and people were stuck motoring through it and risking their complete motor vehicle with some false sense of bravado.

alot of the paintjobs on the newer cars, specially european cars have alot of protection on them to look after them from the environment..
even on my car i purchased recently (subaru) which is 2nd hand, i STILL have the receipts on the paintjob from the factory, saying i still have 3 years warranty on my paintwork. Which covers for any decline in quality due to weather..NOT inflicted damage etc. My car is an 2001 model...so its a 10 year warranty i got with it.
I assume those cars would have similar cover/paintwork

it really wont do anything to them when they are built they are tested to make sure they will last, ofcourse rain salt and snow damage a cars paint and cause rust but, i think your looking at least 5 years if they sit out side their whole life. but if your one of those freaks that dont let thier car get wet from rain then i would go buy a car some where else lol. me i woudlnt car sooner or later it will get wet and dirty
Yeah, like they said...it's not a big deal man, very good paint jobs on cars these days...especially higher end cars.

salt on the roads...that gets em from the inside out...it would take a long time for rain water alone to do damage
