I'm looking at a 91 crx for my son, any bad or good about this series? Engine, trans, etc?

I had an 87. They're not bad cars, but I would be concerned about safety. They suck in that capacity. The two-seater thing has it's pros and cons too depending on preference.

the 91crx is good, if hes into imports, you can do alot of shit with that car, engine swaps, lots and lots of modification. for that car and recommen a b18c gsr acura integra engine for a swap, expensive but worth it. yes i am a car freak!

how old is your son? THe crx is a great car. Honda managed to make alot of their cars with nearly if not the same platforms so swapping parts from model to model is popular and easy. That point is both an advantage for making more power and also for just replacing bad parts with the stock part of a different model.

If your son is into imports then there is boatloads he can do with a crx. It's a nice little car, Honda engines can last a longtime if cared properly for, and could also be had for relatively cheap. Parts should also be very easy to find.

If safety is a concern then the crx could be debatable. I know the drivers side has an airbag but i can't remember if the passenger side (i think it does) of that model year has one. Also, it is a small car, with all the SUVs around it wouldn't be a match in a wreck.

But for the money, and cost to insure i think it would be a great first car (if its his first). How does he like the crx? Did he come to you with the idea or is the crx your suggestion to him?
