wheres the fuel filter? well im not sure about cavaliers....but get a creeper and look under the car frame on the drivers side, it should be tucked insinde on top of the frame, if it isnt then just follow the hoses from the gas tank (hehe theres more than 2 or 3 so it may take some time)

This is my girlfriend's car actually. I asked her if she had ever cleaned the fuel system. She said no. 3 years and better than 40,000 miles. Damn!! So I put a bottle of good quality injector cleaner in the tank. So far it seems to be helping.

00000 sssheeesh you didnt say that. def def def needs a tuneup including changing the fuel filter. Plugs, rotor, distrubutor cap. Then lets talk. We cant know anything until thats done.
