Here is a 1968 Mercury Cougar I bought from a guy I know that was recently incarcerated. I paid $800. for this classic. Overall its in ok condition. First of all it runs, the interior is shot, the vinyl top is shot and there is rust underneath it, but it has a rebuilt 302 4V with new headers and exhaust. Its going to be a little expensive to restore but I have time and I love these old Cougars! Here are the Pics.

what a great car to restore. you don't see these much.I would suggest to you that you do not replace the vinl top.

They are known to collect water and start rusting underneath the vinyl. by the time you see it's happening you pretty much have a rust hole. Every car I've seen with a vinyl top this has happened.

Actually there is a lot of rust under the vinyl around the rear windshield. I have come to the decision to remove the top and try and remove the rust. Hopefully it hasnt gotten to deep. I will post more as the project continues. Bachiotomy, you're right I hardly ever see these old cougars, I went on a web site called mercurycougar.net and found a lot of enthusiasts right here in California. I guess it makes since since thats where this car was born.
