used to have a 98 civic vti best car i've owned, even beat my 205 1.9 Gti Ltd Edition. yeah they rev like a screaming tazi devil but thats half the fun. I'd put about £1500 of Alpine stereo kit in mine and left the rest stock. more fun that way when you want the rep who thinks he's all that in his 320 beemer to try and take you on and fail miserably. anyhow i can see both sides of the coin so to speak. having had my fair share of hot hatches you still can't be pure muscle. I've got mates in Oz that keep going on about their 3l,4l and 5l V6 and V8 cars -- Holden Commodores and the like. Yeah great when you can get your fuel for 35c a litre or whatever it works out at now, but when it comes to bhp per ton you can't beat a rice rocket for affordability. Most of the Aussies cars had big engines but crap gearing and low BHP so your average rice rocket would beat it hands down. to prove a point i took some of my aussie mates out in my civic whilst they were over in the UK and scared the living daylights out of them all when they realised that the 120 on the dial was mph no kph. Now i know it aint big or clever to be driving those speeds, hey I've now got a Megane Diesel, but i had to prove a point. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that yeah muscle is best if its done right but for pure fun if it is your pleasure drive a rice rocket. Me personally I wouldn't say no to an M3 or an M5 -- some normally aspirated muscle but i have a soft spot for Impreza's and Evo's but as with most hot hatches and performance cars in the UK the chav element have got their greasy mits on 'em and giving them a bad rep. Lets see who i've angered with that comment
