This is a stupid question. A friend's son has a 2002 Honda XR80 and needs to check and change the oilo. I have owned motorcycles in my past but all have been 2 strokes not 4 strokes. I would assume that you put in reguler gas and add oil to the crank case but, just want to be sure. Would hate to give advice and have the bike sieze on him. Any answers would be great. I am sure that there are guys out there who can help me.

a 4 stroke does not need any "additive" to the fuel as a 2 stroke does .as it's a self oiling system..
the crankcase may need some oil , but it's not like it's using it as a additive to a fuel .. it's a sealed system much like the 2 stroke's transmission is sealed from the rest.. just check it and add to it if it needs and use regular gas without any additive other then maybe some octane booster.

I would have to say you are correct on your thinking. But im a car guy, not bike, so maybe there is something different?

bike principles of 2 and 4 strokes are the same as cars with the biggest difference is that the gear fluid also encompasses the wet clutch system. a car has a dry clutch system. most motorcycles have what they call a wet system clutch wich are just a stack of steel or aluminum plates with aluminum plates that are covered with carbon or cork sandwiched in between each steel or aluminum plates.
