I WORK AT A DEALER THAT SERVICE OLDSMOBILES//THE BEST THING TO DO IS TO CHANGE THEM WITH OE GM ROTORS NOT TO CUT THEM.ALSO USE GM PADS WHEN YOU CHANGE THEM.THE REASON TO REPLACE THEM IS IF YOU CUT THEM THEY WILL BE OK FOR A FEW HUNDRED MILES THEN YOU WILL START TO GET A THUMP NOISE OR PULSATION IN YOU STEERING WHEEL WHEN STOPPING.ALWAYS USE FACTORY GM PARTS WHEN IT HAS TO DO WITH BRAKES

Depends on the problems!
GM has had a problem the last few years with placing undersized discs on certain model cars. They get too hot and warp...resulting in a sometimes jerky and unclean stop. Since the front brakes do most of the work and bear most of the stopping burden, they are the first to go.......but still, you never really described any symptoms...
