Simple question....I'm looking at a 2007 softail deluxe....Given the popularity of these bikes is there generally ANY wiggle room in the price factor? Dealer wants 25K for an upgraded bike.....sure is pretty! Thanks

You probably won't fund much room for bargaining your best bet is to not get a Harley If you plan on riding it alot you won't be happy with the performance and they leak alot . Don't get me wrong I love Harley's but for the money they aren't worth it. get a custom bike instead you will be happier in the long run.

You could probably get one in the U.K. or holland for around £9000 but it would cost about £1000 to get it to the states.

Harleys are best bikes on the road. Why do you think so many jap bikes try to imitate them? $25k for a new Harley with upgrades is the going rate, bite the bullet and pay the price. You won't regret it. New Harleys don't leak, are highly dependable, and anyone who says differently doesn't know what they are talking about. I've ridden Harleys for over 30 years, currently ride a 1966 Electraglide that has never left me stranded. How many jap or brit bikes that are over 40 years old will still bring over $12k?

The dealer I bought my Sportster at. Let me place a bid on it and they accepted it....About 1100 below their asking price. :-)

the new harleys don't leak.. that's the older ones.. but like a new car, as soon as you drive it off the lot you'll lose money.. look at some used ones or aftermarket ones like the big dog..

There was a sad time for Harleys in the mid to late 70's, I believe, when the company was under foreign ownership. This was the dreaded time where the bad reps started. The production values were disregarded during that time, but once the original family bought back the company, things were set straight. I have a 100th anniversary Sportster that I chose for my first bike...

Why?

Not too small by any standards, not too big to handle for a beginner, and Harleys hold their value because the are JUST GOOD BIKES...

End of story.

My dream Harley is a Springer Softail, but I've designed a custom bike of my own that I WILL build someday.
