My weekend ride:

'68 Chrysler 300
440 w/Holley pro-jection system, 727 tranny, 3.83 posi rearend, I calculate approx. 345 HP

Car is almost 20 ft. long, and weighs damn near 2 tons.
I've had it up to 140 mph, before the shaking made me slow down .
All drum brakes make it like trying to stop a tank.
Original 120,000 miles, was almost perfect shape until some asshole backed into the driver's door (see pic)
I dig the hide-a-way headlights, and the sheer size of this beast.
When is the last time you saw a car that had 2 ashtrays on the front dash, one for driver and another for the passenger.
I can also fit 6 fat chicks and a keg of beer in the trunk.
I keep the fenderskirts in the trunk, so the local punks won't steal them. Cost me an arm & leg to replace last time.

BTW, I kind of inherited this car. A good friend of mine was murdered a couple years ago, and his parents couldn't stand to look at it anymore, so they gave it to me to keep it in the circle of friends.

Sweet old C-body. I had a set of mint skirts off a `67 and had to give them away I'm surprised the punks know how to remove them and I wonder what they do with them once they steal them.

Seems you guys in the US have all the perks. 1300 for a decnt torino. That car over here would cost about 6,000 dollars. anyway. I'm after a yank tank for my daily driver. thought this'd be the best place to ask advice over what is decent, ie- reliable, has good gass mileage, cheap to repair etc. something late sixties ideal. call me predjudiced, but no fomoco rubbish. go nuts with suggestions...

well i know of a man in my hometown who owns a buick electra which he parks on the road cos it won't fit in the carparks, so nothing too huge. besides i wouldnt have thought a dirty great v8 would be insurable for me over here. im not sure i understand the american industry too well-something about chevrolet nova sized, whatever that is in terms of small or intermediate.

A 1970 Bel Air got me through the teen years
Highway 350
Turbomatic 400
0-50 across an intersection, 0-70 on any highway on ramp (max out 89mph)
Held 9 people
Almost indestructable (rolled it once after a tornado, only had to replace a marker light)
:: sigh, miss the old brute::

I've owned a LOT of cars...my 60's muscle car contribution was a '65 Malubu SS (Red w/black interior), 327, 4 speed...but, I am currently building a "roadster" that when finished will weigh approx 2200 lbs. and will have a Frod Racing 351 at approx 400 HP! I'm building for a top end capability of about 185 MPH!
