I'm mainly going on experience of having a slightly modded '99 Evo 6 with 320bhp. It did 0-62mph (100kmh) in 4.2 secs, and pretty much left everything for dead - and it was a joy to see the frustrated face of M3 drivers disappearing into the distance....the Evo also gets my vote because it was the 6 that won Tommy Makinen his 4th straight world title in '99

You have a problem with that? Check out the vid.

Where do I need AWD car? Even in Finnish winter I can drive with my FWD car perfectly. I guess it's just the skill and talent to drive "less-wheeler" in bad conditions. I don't need AWD to help me drive.

I've tested them both during the swedish WRC rally and I must say the Subaru was way better than the Mitsubishi.

sti is quicker and handles a bit better, there is no compition here unless you mod your evo even more, but stock wise the sti was made to win, it's a more higher performance vehicle

evo 5 and you have my vote. the front is amazing just looking at it. those 6in' piaa and the hood, squarer(if thats a word)headlights. i hate the 7 and on headlights

but sti is the shit even though i'd rather have an 99' impreza 22b though..its 2dr, and its the OG

I dont care one way or the other but thought I would pass this on to you guys that do care. There was some track racing done here with both the Evo and the Sti. Both new vehicles, both raced by four seperate racing drivers so that everyone got to drive both cars once. The result....the Sti beat the Evo everytime. Same cars, different divers. All the pro drivers said that the Sti was a better car in all depts.Cheers.

I used to have a Mitsubishi, now I have an Impreza.
I'd choose the STI, better interior, better build quality, close enough performance.
As for the 2.5, it is lower revving than the 2.0, but has more torque.
Want to take on the FQ400 with an Impreza? The Litchfield Imports Type-25 should be a good match.

I heard from our subaru forum, that 2.5 version isn't well upgradeable like 2.0 version was. So push more power from the 2.5 and it'll going to crack.

Possibly, I guess it just depends on how you do it. The 2.0 might have been easier, but the 2.5 is used in the Type25, and it makes 415bhp reliably.
