New images have surfaced of what appears to be the forthcoming Dodge Challenger concept. Their source is unclear, but they certainly appear to be authentic. Of course, we won’t know for sure until Dodge makes its official announcement. The first images of the car surfaced in November, when a completely undisguised prototype was caught parked in a remote location. The car is expecting to debut in concept form that the Detroit auto show in January. The Leftlane Perspective: Chrysler has said it has no plans to produce the Challenger, but given the public’s largely positive reaction, we suspect a production version is inevitable. I remember a few years back I saw the comcept pics of the Dodge Charger.. It looked alot like the original but with four doors.. it had the same coke bottle design.. but when they fianlly built it...yuk..hopefully they will build the Challenger like the concept...
It should be made into production to apologize for the "Charger", if nothing else. I say" Charger", because no self-respecting auto enthusiast would ever take a classic MOPAR vehicle and turn it into a high-end, four-door, rugrat carrier for the middle-managemant masses... that designer should be shot, shot again for good measure, then drawn and quartered; his remains posted at every major "American" manufacturer as a warning to any other fuck-up who shall disturb the glory and might of the muscle car era...
I do like the new Charger, but if I had my choice, I'd take that Challenger in a heartbeat. Looks like a straight throwback to the original... I want one.
