best convertible?

ok guys and gals, i'm thinking of purchasing an older model convertible, preferably a classic, but definitely a "land yacht". i want it to go cruising on weekends and take on vacation. my ideal car would be a fixer up, but i don't know where to start. in fact, i don't even know what kind i want.

Another vote for the firebird... I've got a 68 vette convertible myself (the blue one in my favorites) but I wouldn't take it anywhere except on a sunday drive or day trip... no room for bags! I'm always keeping an eye open for a 60's firebird 400 convertable for my 3rd car.
