How come you yanks can only get 500bhp out of an 8L engine when the japs can get more than that from an engine half the size with there eyes shut??? even the germans can get that from 5L in the new M5?????

because american engines have this neat thing called torque. see, raw horsepower isn't all that matters.

a 500 hp american engine may have roughly 550 ft lbs of tourque.
a 500 hp jap would have 2.5 ft lbs.

Ok i'll give you that i'd just looked at the standard specs so i'll give them their credit, but still why do dodge need over 8L when other countrys can do it with 5? And i suppose you need all that Torque to move all the overweight yanks that will be driving it

That car is fast enough. Faster than just about anything on four wheels. I'd love to get a thing like that on track.

The sad thing is that, like all American cars, it looks stupid. The looks really don't match performance there.

sorry if i come of as a hater but im not...it just really pisses me off when u guys *overexadurate* cars that arnt all that unique...i dont have a problem with wattys postings at all, theres nobody on any of these boards that i dont like...except one guy but i think hes a mod so im not gonna say names

because its a 10 cylinder...and they cant make it a 5L like the benz and ferraris because they cant be selling the god damn thing for 300 grand...that motor has unbelievable potential as well

oh btw every domestic supercar is designed for people under or around 6 feet...as much as i like vets gts and vipers my head would be tilted hitting the top if i were to drive one

Yeah, the torque is very important thing, but some nice jap cars do have 2.0 liter engine and 310 ft lbs of torque. I love those turbos. And it's not rare to have over 300bhp from 2.0 liter engine. I think 300 & 300 are nice number from 2 liter engine.

why is it 8 liters? maybe the fact that dodge doesnt want to produce and sell these cars for over 200 grand...think about it, anyone can take a 2L and make it woop a 5L, but the 2L has got tons of stress and wont last nearly as long as the 5L...theres so many god damn factors that come into play i dont even know where to begin

Thats 1000 hp and 1400 ft lbs of torque. Sorry no 5L M5 will touch that. Ever.
