i'm planning on getting my first car next year. being a student and all, i don't have that much $$$ to spend on a car. i've gone through the mazdas, hondas, and even the hyundais and kias. but i can't believe that i forgot about suzuki!
they have a whole range of different vehicles and at a car show in paris, they showed off their new Swift Concept S and S2.
true to tradition of the swift, it's not going to be a performance car. the basic 1.2L engine boasts sub-100 horse and torque, with the upgrade just a notch over 100. but there's also a diesel engine, a first for suzuki. the diesel sports a modest 70hp and 125 lbs/ft of torque. not bad for a tiny car.
also, compared to years past, the swift actually looks pretty good. a mixture of daewoo inspiration and past gm failures (from which they learned) have given the swift a winning look.
the most important thing about the new swift is the price. a sub-$20,000 car that has features such as a/c, power doors and windows, keyless entry, am/fm/cd w/ mp3 6-speaker stereo, and a bunch of other accessories is not a bad deal. plus, the car is built for fuel economy - another plus for the money concious.
if/when this car comes out, i'll make sure to test drive it!
