Also I don't see a way to increase the number of pics shown when I do a tag search.

I think it's because the database is 2 weeks old and as Diz-X said the frontpage takes stuff from 2 weeks ago so there is nothing to be shown.

Indeed, it seems like there is no way to set how many pics/post we want to see per page for tagsearch, galleries and forums.

Hrm. The whole admin panel looks...different.

I've been testing a little and :
- I can't test mod function as tag management and pics modding (only have the "search user" link)
- As only permanent tagger will be able to tag pics, we need a place where we can see/manage them
- Is the crew statistic page gone ?
- The tagsearch page seems a little weird with some category boxes taking way to much space (to fit the page). I think it was better with all the boxes having the same size. Also, while the page does not break anymore when we select a lot of tags in the same category, it still "moves" the page a little, which is disturbing. Again having fixed size would solve that issue.
- There is a problem with character encoding in the last comment and last posts sections of the front page (see my last comments/thread, with special characters and accents)
- We need a preview feature when posting on forums and creating threads
- For some reason, if I use a lot of color tag when posting, the site randomly adds space between letters (see this post : http://alpha.whatboyswant.com/forums/read/159250/page:1/page:1#postNumber1 even if I edit the spaces, they come back)

Finally, if you want, I can do a translation in french as there is a localisation feature in the settings.

Can't find a way to change "posts per page" for the forum.

Would be nice to have that feature right in the forum instead of having to change it from your profile settings page.

Well, I can't really speak to the trouble-shooting as I haven't had time to go play with it much.

I will say that I am incredibly excited to be able to browse WBW and view some of the pics in my favorites without it locking up all the time because of all the doodads and stupid pop-ups all over the place. I'm immensely stoked to start spending some of my credits too. I have about 1500 credits that I've earned primarily from dupe hunting over the years and now I have something to use them on. That's going to be pretty kick-ass!

I do hope you add in a more elaborate member page, such as one that lists the most prolific taggers, the most frequent dupe hunters, the most frequent smiley users, and other fun stuff. Something so that more people get some recognition and it turns this back into more of a community. I think that recently it's become more of a picture store rather than a community, and I kind of miss the fun we used to have together.

Even if the member listings don't get all that elaborate, I think that just returning the board to basic functionality, plus allowing members to earn and use credits will do a lot for that sense of community. I'm excited for the new site, and excited about what impact it has on our collective virtual village.

You made some tough choices to get us here, Diz, and the entire team has put in a lot of work.

I think it will pay off, and I can't thank you enough for being willing to do what needed to be done to make the place better.

Tarquin: The new version opens a lot of that kind of stuff, more community based stuff and statistics. The new version will be maybe more/less then you are used to, but we needed to start from scratch to make everything workable again. There are a lot of enhancement security wise.

BTW, I ordered about 9 new servers for new wbw to make everything run more smoothly.

Will look into that, we didn't add this so the layout wouldn't clutter too much.

As far as the redesign from the ground up goes, I'm not opposed to taking a step back so that we can move farther forward. Sometimes less is more, and planning for the long-term is often the better way to go.

Fuck instant gratification. I've been here almost 10 years. Do what you have to do. Thank you for doing it.

Yeah that's my tests for special characters that I've reported in post #24.

I'm over fifty. That might explain, why I do _not_ the new look at all. I definitely prefer a white background to a violet-lilac one. And I miss the small preview (previous, previous +1, next, next + 1).

You can change the background in your account settings. There is no white one yet but there is a simple grey one that I like which may suit you better.
Also, later Diz will add more themes so you'll be able to change for something else.

I miss the previous/next thumbs too but it seems it was causing issues with how the site works so it couldn't be kept.

It might be a little late for suggestions for the new version, but I have one anyway.

I love that we will now have the option to load emotes, I think that's a great idea. However, maybe we could make it even better. How about the ability for members to upload emotes to a database, and then once those emotes are approved, the ability to search for emotes that could be entered into forum posts. Emotes could be jpg's, or gif's, but would have to be limited to a physical size....perhaps 100x100 pixels maximum? There are cam sites that offer this feature, and they're very popular.

Just an idea.

I gotta agree that I liked the old way of browing forward and backward through pictures, with thumbnails included, a bit better.
