Thread rating system...

Is pretty much a waste of time..

I'm sure one or two people actually pay attention to what a thread gets rated - but everyone I know ignores it - and I know I dont use it to determine the success or failure of a thread.

I bring this up because of how easy it was for me to fuck with latino with like five spoofs in some of his threads - and of course - he actually noticed.

Any chance of it getting the axe alltogether?

i look 4 the stars. but i agree with the fact that some awesome threads remain unrated while some rubbish ones get 5 stars. so i would be in favour of scrapping the stars!!!

I think the 1 threads get more action anyway. There are so many threads rated a 5, whats the point of checking out another one? If it's rated a 1, something must be going on thats getting people pissed off in there, and has a heated discussion going.


Either way, its a waste of time. I know I cant spare the 2 seconds it takes to rate a thread.

If there is one thing ive noticed about forums in general - its that thread rating systems are generally a bad idea.

Someone is always getting pissy because of someone voting 1, or not voting - or any combination when no one really pays attention to them in the first place.

With the general population of pretty much any forum being leeching bumblefucks - they pretty much ruin it for everyone.

i always go by the views....the little blocks are part of the landscape, i dont notice till someone points it out to me...

Like I said - no one really cares anyway. The number of stars or red blocks have no effect on the views or replies a thread gets.

If someone wants to look or reply, they will. Your thread title has twenty times as much to do with it.

Basically, the thread rating system is pointless and just gives people more to bitch about.

yeah the ratings dont really matter when im choosing a thread.... but yeah people get pissy when their threads get low marks... i usually only notice the ratings when people say oi whose been giving me ones... i cant be fucked voting on threads anyway... but im a lazy fuck
