Site grabbers / Wget and other site leeching software!

After some consideration and some real getting anoyed of some events.. I desided to get agressive against this kind of software!!!

Everybody who uses an site grabber or other leeching software will be BANNED from WBW! Let this be a warning! I have currently made software that detects when you are using this kind of software, and will automaticly put you in a BANLIST.. This ban will stick for 2 days.. If this happens again,.. the scripts then adds you to permantly banned!

ita software that just download EVERYTHING on a site to you Hard Drive

nad it slows down the site so we dont like them

I am not going to tell how the tool exactly works.. but it works.. I think people have to realise how much traffic it costs, and how it slows down wbw! I think I am very clear on this point!

I hate site grabbers. we do our best to collect all the pics underneath one roof, and then someone steals the roof... or.. well you know what I mean

good work.....is this why the site has been slow the last few days? Site Grabbers? hmmm.....never heard of it but it sounds rude! Go git 'em Diz......they can download the entire site with this shit? WOW.....is indeed rude, but impressive. They should definately be banned.

crue > Not the entire, they can't get the php sources. But why not just surf around and then save the pics you like

Ducks: that's a much better idear, in the future I will make a nice option that you can save all your favorites at ones in 1 zip file! or something like it! But this is future planing!

Really good work! I've never tried one of those site grabbers but the idea itself feels stupid. I enjoy to actually search for good, unprofessional pictures, don't know about the rest of you lot.

I was just wondering how agressively this script of your's is.
As a modem user I like to download my files with GetRight, and I use it a lot.
So if I use Getright to download i.e. attached files from forum, will this script of yours ban me from here?

GetRight isn't actually a site-grabber, rather an 'download manager' that resumes and etc downloads, but it goes straight to the server to get the files and I have seen some sites banning them from doing that.

So I'd appresiate if you told me how it is or should I disable GetRight when I download files from here.

Wit_mht: The antileech protection doesn't affect usage of getright or other download managers.. so don't worry!

It only kicks in when you for example load certain amount of pages in an certain time.. (what isn't possible by clicking!)
