New Forum Section?

That's actually how most of the threads get started on Somethingawful and how I got the idea for this. I mean I have so many things that I'm interested in talking about here and I've started a few threads myself in the lounge but . .. My whole thing with making another sub-forum just for serious discussion is, as I've said before, to isolate the light-hearted and humorous discussions from the serious discussions, which may isolate some of the people who tend to be uninterested in such threads or belligerent when one is posted. I do, however, appreciate the desire not to create more work for moderators. I guess the other reason is that sometimes those serious discussions get lost in the deluge of randomness that is the lounge, albeit I greatly appreciate that randomness.

unfortunately....you wont be able to get another subforum just for that, since Diz does not take it as something that requires attention, and is also why the lounge exists..

you can see why those serious topics are lost in the deluge...
people just arent as interested in those..

been a site supposedly for men, you think the car section would have more traffic, it has its OWN sub-forum, yet...its not as popular. Their threads STILL get lost in the deluge which is the porn threads...just like the sports section.

The problem IMO is not changing WBWs forum structure....but changing the attitude and interests of alot of the members...in the end, most are here for one reason....porn, and im sure it was the porn that got you interested in sponsoring...right?





edit: people themselves have got to try and come up with more threads to discuss....and people right now are NOT doing that, theyre leaving it up to the mods...when they really shouldnt be doing that.

Ive always tried to use news for the basis for my threads....and as such, we encourage ALL mods to participate in new threads, to help them get started. If memebers made their own threads...mods would do the same to theirs

True, that most people are here for porn, I hoped that another forum section might make the rules a little more clear, as it states pretty clearly that the lounge is a "relaxation zone" and no "No political topics." It's pretty hard to discuss anything serious without it touching on the realm of politics. Secondly, I've seen people chastised in the lounge for posting news articles or links, rather than going through the news moderator. That alone sends some mixed singles.

Actually, long story, but initially, yes I joined for the porn. I then let my sponsor membership lapse for over a year, but when V5 came out I rejoined as a sponsor. Not to sound like a sycophant, I did not rejoin to get the added content sponsoring brings, rather I did so to show my appreciation for the hard work that went into preparing and implementing V5, which, unlike so many people, I think is fantastic.

Anyways, if the rules for the lounge could get clarified so that people (myself included) can clearly see whether posting news articles and beginning discussions is alright. I, however, still believe it is hard to have an all out ban on 'political' discussions and that was something I hoped could be lifted in a different sub-forum.

I belong to several gentleman's clubs some old, some new but the most successful have the following rule. No discussion on politics or religion This way no one gets offended. If you want serious discussion join National Geographic or take out a subscription to Readers Digest. Remember the Internet is for PORN.

id be interested but i very much doubt that this site is the right kind of platform for something like a serious discussion. from my experience people come here for the porn (legend has it some people come here for the cars as well) and that is that...
