Movie issue

I've been lurking here for about a month, so before I get flamed I'd like to freely admit I'm a complete noob here. That said, I've run into an odd issue with videos I've downloaded from the movie section. Up until yesterday I haven't had an issue. I'm on a mac running the latest version of quicktime with the latest version of divx (6.0). I don't know if the WBW crew has changed their conversion methods or what, but Now I just get a white screen with sound and some vids just freeze quicktime all together. If the WBW crew could respond, that would be great. If anyone else has any ideas, I'm open for suggestions.

For the record, I will be contributing in the future. I'm new but I really like the crowd here for the most part. Good stuff and good community. Anyways...thanks in advance.

1. Repair your permissions with Disk Utility.
2. Try again.

If that fails, redownload Quicktime 7.0.4 installer from Apple's site. And redownload a copy of DivX 6 for the Mac (not the beta, but final).

If that doesn't work, switch to VLC (videolan.org) or MPlayer (macupdate.com)

My guess is that DivX 6 codec with QT doesn't work with DivX 5 encoded stuff here. I noticed the same problem as timebombtim.
