movie download issues

what has changed in the last few days that prevents me from downloading movies. Sometimes I get a warning the video is being upgraded to a new system and cannot be played until then, other times the movie donwloads but doesn't play on anything on my computer. The newer posts seem to need some new type of player, the older ones saved in my favs I get the warning for. What do I now need to run the movies.

I too am experiencing similar problems, any solution on the horizon?

The movies were re-enconded to mp4 so that anyone could see them (including on mobile devices were people had trouble) and so that another webplayer could be used directly on the site (because people also had trouble with the previous one when trying to fast forward for example).

Video displaying "Video files for webplayer are being processed..." as still being processed (this require some time and it was unfortunately slowed down by the hardware crash the site experienced a few days ago). You can still download those movies though.

If you download the movies in mp4, any video player with h.264 codecs should be able to play them. If you have trouble you may want to update your codecs or use VLC (which doesn't need external codecs to work). mp4 h.264 is a standard codec nowadays.

8.79% converted to new format as of now. I have 3 servers on this encoding into new format.

10.54% converted now.

12.52% of 82028 movies converted;

15.48% of 82057 movies converted;

16.49% of 82057 movies converted;

17,79% of 82070 movies converted.

19,36% of 82071 movies converted.

21.03% of 82071 movies converted.

26.44% of 82099 movies converted.

31.53% of 82128 movies converted. (gets faster as the older movies are smaller)

46.30% of 82243 movies converted.

I don't download many movies but I have not had any problems so far.

I am unable to view the movies before deciding whether to download them or not. A short way into the movie I get a "blank" page with the message HTM15 Network error. This happens both in long and short movies. I have VLC installed but it does not seem to be handling these movies. Any help would be appreciated. If this is still a fault to do with the server problems I am quite happy to await its correction as I know there is a lot of work involved but this fault occurs on both new and old movies.

I have a problem viewing movies as well lately. ..I have to download them to watch them. If I try to watch them on the site I just get audio & a black sceen...?

Is there [u]Anything[u]being done about this problem? I dont mind waiting if there is a genuine problem being looked at but can someone keep us informed? Im still suffering the same cut out part way through viewing movies with the HTM15 message popping up.

Please try to pass some info as to when this will be dealt with.

I never had this issue before and I don't really know what this error message means but I've warned Diz about that so he can give you an answer.
What's your browser and is it up to date ?
