Just a couple of observations. I do enjoy this site and recently submitted some photos. I have no problem with most of the pictures being rejected as I realize I don't always know who is a celebrity model, etc. but found it interesting that a couple of pictures that were rejected were totally for the wrong reasons. Both supposedly were rejected for being altered. One would have been a real surprise to a friend who took the picture of his mother in law and wife as supposedly it was altered and no it was not! One other picture was a girl by herself and someone I know and yet declared rejected because it was supposedly altered because the picture of her with a friend was accepted and yet the one of her solo was not. So the moderators need to not trust their software or whatever they use or even instincts all the time as they can be wrong. Other than that this site usually does alright.
Yeah I've just uploaded 100 OC pics, and I've already got 16 into altered??
And just to be clear I do indeed know especially the mother in law and daughter that I noted was rejected. Have been friends over 20 years and the mother-in-law is 65 this year and her daughter 41. It was not an offensive picture at all indeed very tame as taken on the beach with the mother-in-law in a cover up while her daughter (who is quite attractive) and is a mother of 2 teens and a nurse was in a blue bikini. Yet the moderators or whoever declared it altered. Think the husband or in this case my friend would know if it was altered or not!!
If every member only uploaded original pics that were not cropped or altered, there's be no reason for moderators.

I've had issues with this in the past, and still have plenty rejected for the "altered" reason, but as Omuh has said, it's a tricky thing to moderate. My main issue at present is that I google search every single image I upload now, with the aim of choosing the largest/best quality version of each image. Fair enough, lots of duplicates get through and there are a fair few "pros" that I didnt know were pro etc, but I still get loads rejected for being altered. I'm not sure what system is used for judging those, or what else I can do to work out if these photos are indeed altered. I could save the moderators a fair amount of time if I knew how to check, as I would do that prior to uploading. So any advice as to how to do this would be useful.
Having been a moderator, I can attest to the difficulty of the job and the dedication of the people who do it. Since every single picture and video is moderated, you can imagine the workload to keep up with the high volume of uploads. By and large, the mods do a great job. When they make mistakes they do not do so with malice, but with the standards of the site foremost. Occasionally that means material will be rejected due to reasonable doubt. Absolute proof is rare.
Thank you, Danny6108, eclipseo, jhope1, and the others in this thread for being civil and respectful. Too often, members launch into vitriol as though mods were out to do them personal harm. By keeping the conversation even-keeled, we all learn something. Mods are much more likely to take your input seriously when you treat them as people the way you did.
F1098 finds this awesome.
The general rule of thumb is to err on the side of caution. It's better to reject a picture that looks altered but you can't prove it for sure than to accept a possibly altered photo.
Can you stop flagging every picture taken with a decent camera and the girl taking poses as "Celebrity/model"?
Unless there is obvious professional lighting going on, it's just amateur pics. Nowadays most peeps are able to buy a DSLR with tons of megapixels, it doesn't mean it turns their girlfriends into "models".
